About

On April 29 2012, Rachel Burke successfully completed her ‘i make my day’ adventure, which saw her make a dress, from scratch EVERYDAY for an entire year.  Keeping this blog about her crafty journey, Rachel’s efforts were all in pursuit of raising money for the Starlight Children’s Foundation, an incredibly worthy charity that dedicates its time to improving the lives of seriously ill kids.  Rachel will be completing the final stages of her project in the early weeks of July, when she celebrates the end of her fundraising efforts with an epic Prom! Stay tuned for more details, and in the meantime it’s not too late to donate, or simply read up on the next stages of Rachel’s adventures!xo

Where It all began…

About ‘i make. you wear it.’ and ‘i make my day’:

‘I make. you wear it.’ started in August 2010, when Rachel Burke began making a dress every Saturday night for 20 consecutive weeks. Through this venture Rachel raised over $5,000 for the charity NAPCAN: preventing child abuse and neglect, and along the way managed to churn out 2o frocks for 20 different ladies

Starlight Children's Foundation Supporter

The Starlight foundation seeks to brighten the lives of seriously ill children and their families. Supporting them throughout their journey, they provide them with the opportunity to be distracted from the pain and stress of their treatments and to simply be a child again.

As this year Starlight celebrates its 21 years of providing joy, happiness and distraction for the inspiring Starlight kids, the ‘i make my day’ project hopes to contribute to this incredible organisation by gathering supporters, donators, and fulfilling a challenge that can only barely compare to that faced by the unwell children Starlight continues to assist.

So please donate! It’s an incredible charity!
