Hello faces!
So the final dressmaking is fast approaching, and indeed this first project is nearly at an end! WOOTEN! Whilst I am fairly buzzed to have my Saturday nights back for a while, I have some big plans for the new year.
To celebrate the end of this project I will be making Katie Noonan a dress on the 28th of January and will of course be throwing the final party for ‘i make. you wear it’ at L’Academie on Petrie Terrace at the end of February. Official dates/times/details/excitement will be released mid January – but in the meantime you have complete license to expect a powerful fashion parade (featuring the lovely ladies of this project), live music, and a general wild old time.
So what are my sewing plans for the new year? Well, I have decided to amp things up a little bit, and set myself a whole new challenge to raise money for charity. April 9th 2011 will see the launch of ‘i make my day’, a project that involves me making a different outfit everyday for an entire year. Inspired entirely by the people of Brisbane, I will be launching myself around town looking for humans to make frocks/suits/ensembles for…and in the downtimes when there are no humans available, I will simply be hurling together things for myself to wear out and about.
All proceeds raised from this venture will again be going to NAPCAN, a fantastic charity that really needs the support and generosity from the wider community in order to continue functioning as fantastically as they do.
In terms of donating to ‘I make. you wear it.’ Before it’s completely over time is indeed running out…but there are still chances! Whilst I am hoping to raise most of the pennies for NAPCAN at the final party in February, the online donations that are received will be integral if I am to reach my goal.
So please help me out in the coming weeks and throw a few pennies my way…even if it’s just coming along to the final party – that would be immensely appreciated.
Hope you’re all well, chat soonetta.
xoxo
