Yesterday I entered HEAVEN in the shape of the Splendour in the Grass craft tent. Here I had the opportunity to put my Fancy Free hat on and run a ‘Swamp Your Sunnies’ workshop alongside my partner in craft related crime, Patience Hodgson. It was SO warming of the heart to see masses of people at 3.50 on a Sunday afternoon crowding around to get their hands on a pair of frames to cover in bulk goodies and swampy delight.
It was so splendid to see how many people packed into the tent to bedazzle their frames – and even more amazing to see what a SUPER AWESOME JOB they did coming up with unique combos and swampy scenes that had never even crossed my mind before.
Pre- swamping of sunnies, Pae and I decided that we should probably plait/glitterfy/hairbow the locks of about 100 friendly gals – we even managed to glitter up some Gentlemen beards too…which was the height of IDEAL.
And of course, no Splendour In the Craft tent would be right without the presence of Southside Tearoom – who delivered guests with hot drinks, brownies and life-changing rice crispy treats. Never has a pop-up coffee stall looked so resplendent or ritzy.
All in all, I really just had the most MAGNIFICENT time. It was so great to meet so many crafty spirits – and whilst I did obtain a fairly severe craft related injury (CURSE YOU HOT GLUE GUN) it was totally worth it.
What a festive time of life.
