Last week I had the pleasure of heading to Hong Kong for a work trip. I was delighted to see so many beautiful things along the way – everything from food, to flowers, to garments was just so amazing to behold. There is such a huge luxury market in Asia, so I relished the opportunity to stroll through the halls of places like Lane Crawford and the IFC mall to touch and feel some of the most beautiful garments. Every time I go to Hong Kong, I have an insane urge to buy all of the things. Luckily most of the stuff I like is WELL out of my price range, so in many cases I just settled for photos of their wonderment instead.
Hong Kong is really an amazing city. There are so many laneways to get lost in and little boutiques to discover. We had the MOST amazing dinner one night at a place called Yardbird on Hollywood Road. The food was incredible and I particularly enjoyed myself with their ‘Jolly Rancher’ beverage…which was some sort of Watermelon-Joyous-Cocktail situation that I could really get acquainted with on a long term basis. I liked the place so much that I nearly bought a t-shirt. At that point it was clear I had had too many Jolly Ranchers.
The thing about these work trips though, is that they fly by so quickly. Before you know it you have done what you went to do, and you are back on the plane sipping a mineral water, watching 3 new release movies, and then waking up surprised to find yourself back at home again.
These vintage, Prada, brogues were not only beautiful, but they were also in my size. It took such strength to just walk away.
I wish I could be a pastel robot and have these shoes in my life. Marc Jacobs, you have got it going on.
I had my cake and I ate it too.
We caught the ferry across the river and scored the most amazing view! Such an amazing city with so much to be discovered.
As much as I love travelling and going on adventures, I love coming home even more. Daphne and Daisy were pretty merry to see me…and Thomas was pretty glad too. Upon my return on Saturday, I spent the rest of the weekend sitting about in my pyjamas, re-watching episodes of Six Feet Under, draping myself in puppies, and eating lots of toast.
See you next time HK!
