A couple of months ago I made the decision to trade in my gym membership for a ceramics class, and it was a really fantastic choice. There was a time when I was dutifully heading to the gym everyday after work – destined for an hour of solid jigging about, un-coordinated attempts at overly complicated routines, followed by slothing on the couch when I got home, too exhausted to do anything else but congratulate myself by eating a tim tam.I’m sure for some, this kind of routine is one to be celebrated: YAY FOR FITNESS. But for me, like most things, I got over it pretty quickly. I couldn’t help but think to myself, as I struggled through a burpie (ie. the worst thing ever), how many other fun things I could be doing with that precious hour. So two months ago, I decided that a ‘funner’ option was to take up a pottery class, specifically at West End’s Clayschool, and boy am I stoked to have made the change.
Now don’t get me wrong, I smile on taking care of yourself and your spirit, and having a happy bod to stroll through your life in. But I also smile on cute vessels. Cute vessels with swirls of paint and cutie stars on them.
These little cuties are available via my Etsy store, so feel free to pop by and have a look at my physical expressions of not going to the gym.
