3. Pastel hair!  If I were braver my hair would look exactly like this.  Alas I am not, so I will simply swoon from afar.

4. Lula Magazine!  Only released four times a year, this mag is jam packed with visual treats and inspiration for any girl who loves misty photographs and tulle dresses.  Loves it!

I did such an almighty session of sew today. t I will confess that for the most part of my stitching fiesta, I was sitting in a small pool of my own sweat – grosse.  How hot did it want to be today?

Holy golly beans it feels so good to be back in Brisbane! After an epic 14 hour flight from Los Angeles it is nice to be walking around on solid Australian ground again – and even nicer to be seeing the friendly face of home!  Unpacking has been a solid effort, but I have found myself in a bit of a crazed state of efficiency – I am determined to stay awake until at least 8 tonight, and as such have been busying myself with tasks ever since I arrived.  So far I have unpacked, made this dress, gotten my fringe trimmed, eyebrows waxed and even went on a light 50 minute walk around my suburb. I even re-arranged a photomontage on my desk wall. Regard its festiveness:

Now I must away to indulge in a stern bowl of special k – something I have been craving for the last 2 weeks.  I may add some banana into the mix…dreams really do come true.

another glorious cuban day!!

dress 290!

I have to confess that I am so, totally in love with the Casa we are at.  Costing only $15/night to stay in, I initially had no idea what to expect – but thought it would be a fun experience to stay in a non-hotel environment for part of our overseas trip.   The Casa is located in central Havana and run by a man called Rolando and his elderly mother.  From the moment we arrived Rolando was brimming with useful information regarding the best places to eat, see…and was particularly helpful with telling us what NOT to do as well.

Also the food and drink here is fabulous too.  The juice is all freshly squeezed, their coffee is wonderful, and the home prepared produce they offer is completely tops (particularly considering a meal is only $4 – i know! whaaaaaat?!)

Needless to say, after our incredible dinner here tonight I was in very high spirits to put this little pink and red frock together.  I hope you likey! xo

Yet amongst this fairly narrow range of options, rather unexpectedly, Chinese food is a really big thing here in Havana.  Directed to Chinatown for a good feed by our incredible Casa host, Thomas and I chose a restaurant called Tuen Tien for our Cuban-chinese feast.  And what a feast it was!  Classically over-ordering a table full of chicken, rice, and crispy meat dishes, we washed the whole meal down with Pina Coladas (magically dusted with bright blue sugar) and Mojitos.  It was totally tremendoid.

In a blur of merriness, upon returning home I whipped up this bluey/purpley frock.  I hope you like – I’m going to go lie on my stomach now, and digest my meal. xo
